Elise's story

Elise Nova is a versatile indie folk-rock and alternative pop singer-songwriter from the San Francisco Bay Area. In her early years, her flair for storytelling and intrinsic sense of music was evident in both her creative writing and dynamic vocal performances on and off the stage. Upon picking up the guitar at age 16, Elise discovered what would become the driving force behind her decision to pursue music professionally: fusing her musicality and affinity for the written word into compelling lyric-driven songs. Several years of honing her craft and artistry eventually led Elise to the esteemed Berklee College of Music, from which she graduated with high honors.

Sonically and thematically, Elise’s music strikes a balance between nostalgia and modernism, as she puts a contemporary slant and poetic spin on the defining sounds and sentiments of the 1960s-2000s. She has a knack for composing infectious melodies with unique twists and turns, and finds narrative in both the every day and the extraordinary. Her lyrics take on a literary bent and explore the nuances of the human condition, bringing these stories to life through her lush, expressive vocals. A producer and audio engineer in her own right, her tracks are imbued with warmth and sparkle, blending acoustic and synthetic textures that blur the lines of genre.

In 2025, Elise released her striking debut single "Break the Silence", followed by her sunny acoustic pop track “SUMMER”, with more original music to come in 2026. Additionally, she writes evocative songs for film and television, and manages a one-stop enterprise as a self-published songwriter and independent recording artist. Currently, Elise is working on new music and performing in local venues, and can often be seen cracking the code of her next song behind her guitar or piano, pen in hand.
